Rodalquilar is right at the centre of all the activities of one of the most important nature reserves in Andalucía: The Cabo de Gata-Nijar Nature Reserve. This is made up of 38.000 hectares of land and 45 km. of coastline and was declared a Nature Reserve on the 23 December 1.987. The traveller is able to enjoy the superb scenery, it has lovely beaches with natural fine sandy coves and clear waters that alternate with the high rugged cliffs. These beaches offer the visitor the opportunity to discover the wonderful seabed with a wide variety of fauna and flora. If you prefer you can venture out onto the many rutes and paths, wandering through mountains and volcanoes… and delight in one of the most representative ecosystems of arid areas in the south east of Spain. This is an important tourist area throughout the year, because of its moderate climate ( its annual average temperature is 20°C and the average water temperatura is 17° C., the warmest in the Península ) Another highlight is the Albardinal Botanical Carden, you can enjoy the natural flora and typical agriculture of the semi-arid area of eastern Andalusia. And of course, a wonderful living centre for those who want to sumerge into the depths of our seas.
